ABOUT THE ARTIST
Busch is a self-taught New Orleans artist who thrives on bright colors and an unorthodox, energetic application of paint to evoke varied emotions in his eye- catching neo-expressionistic works.

This is his second exhibition in the gallery, and he's in collections throughout the United States and abroad. His works were exhibited at the Alexandria (Louisiana) Museum of Art and featured on the syndicated Canadian television program My Global Adventure.

HIS OWN WORDS
Painting is part meditation, balance and a means of communicating from my soul. Buddhism teaches that everyone of us has the innate wisdom, awareness, compassion, love and power of Buddha, however, it is only by looking inward, rather than seeing external fulfillment, that one begins to awaken or liberate the Buddha within.

I am drawn to vibrant colors and use them to capture and convey the essence of my inner expression. The colors are warm and alive, and depict the present awareness and mindfulness that I am able to achieve while painting…this implies an understanding of what I am doing, saying and, even, painting.

This series of paintings seeks to capture through the use of color the Buddhist principles that stress the present moment. When I look inward, I see, feel and breathe colors…they represent the warmth and compassion that resides within all of us. I hope that these works awaken ones senses and, more importantly, the Buddha within.

This exhibition is dedicated to my loving parents, Joseph and Joan, who encourage and inspire me and have taught me much about kindness, compassion and love.
