ABOUT THE ARTIST
Elizabeth Fox is a Florida born artist who lives in New Orleans. She attended the Ringling School of Art, where she was named Best Fine Art Student in 1988. She was also awarded a Florida Congressional Art Award. 

She has shown her works around the country. “Desire in America” is her first exhibition at the gallery.

IN HER OWN WORDS

My oil paintings are a mix of intense detail offset by graphic spatial areas. Concise compositions depict stylized figures in scenes that tell a story. Often shown are the human condition of want for success and consumption of material items and food. The narratives utilize both humor and mystery. The viewer is faced with a lot of questions in a simple realm of pseudo reality. There is a weighty contrast of masculine versus feminine and many figures are handled with a connection or a longing of relation.
